Sofie Hemeryck (1971) started up the company in 2005. She has an extensive experience in management and sales of international trade shows. Her trade fair experience started in 1998 in Shanghai, China at VNU Exhibitions (former Jaarbeurs Utrecht & Keylong Exhibitions) as a Senior Project Manager where she started-up, managed and developed 3 international trade fairs Domotex asia/CHINAFLOOR , Busworld Asia and Traffic & Parking.
In 2001 she was hired by Flanders Expo in Ghent as a Business Development Manager where she was responsible for attracting new international and national organizers to the venue, mergers and acquisitions, strategic work, niches and she implemented market surveys for new trade and public shows organized by Flanders Expo.
Since 2005 FairCon is the agent in Europe of VNU Exhibitions Asia on the following fairs taking place in Shanghai : Floortech, Domotex asia/CHINAFLOOR, Millionaire Fair, K+BB and China Design.
She has been organizing events since 1989 and works today as a freelance event manager. Some of these events are : international and national incentives and congresses, sports events, weddings, etc. She is since 2007 guest professor event management at the "Hogeschool West-Vlaanderen" in Belgium.
Project management, event organisation and business development have been the basics throughout her whole career.
She has a Master Degree in Economic and Social Sciences with Management major, a Bachelor Diploma in Management Communications & Advertising and a Bachelor Diploma in Marketing.
